Sept. 1, 2008  >>  Greg & Carol Bain of Riverbend Complete Dispersal was a great success as Riverbend averaged $4,440 on all live lots, and the sale was well received and well attended.  The Bains will be missed in the Simmental community, Congratulations!   Sales catalogue can be viewed here and sales results should be posted on this Sale Management Site soon, or in the near future.

Lot 1 > Riverbend Patriot, Senoir Herdsire of Riverbend is going to PHS and will be walking the PHS pastures next summer, as full possession was purchased by Prospect Hill Simmentals, continuing the role of buying the very best whenever the opportunity presents itself.  PHS will be sharing half semen rights with Riverbend.  PHS has reviewed some interest in purchasing semen, please direct your semen enquiries to PHS.

John Cartwright, PHS Farm Manager said prior to the sale about Patriot, “ When Andrew and I went out west and toured the Bains’ herd, the Patriot (CSA#631905) calves just jumped right out at us.  After seeing Patriot, he has an incredible hoof under him, and he puts the paint on the calves as well.  I said to Andrew this is the bull for us to go on the polled cows. Also his Cow Family is strong, and this is important to PHS as we have been trying to pick up cow families we do not have.”
